ViewSonic Ls740hd 5500 Lumens 1080p Laser Projector, High Brightness for Auditoriums, 1.3x Optical Zoom, H/V Keystone, and 360-degree Projection for Flexible Setup, HDR Support, and HDMI Inputs
ViewSonic Ls740hd Review: Is Its Bright, Flexible Design Right for You?
The LS740HD is a premium-oriented installation projector built around bright laser projection, Full HD resolution, and flexible image positioning. Its 1.3x optical zoom, horizontal and vertical keystone correction, four-corner adjustment, portrait mode, and 360-degree projection can reduce setup friction. The main decision is whether those installation conveniences and high brightness justify choosing a specialized projector rather than a simpler model for basic viewing.

Full review
The ViewSonic LS740HD targets buyers who need more than basic home projection. Its combination of Full HD resolution, high brightness, laser illumination, and installation-oriented controls makes it suited to presentations, classrooms, auditoriums, meeting rooms, and golf-simulation environments. Brightness is the defining feature. The supplied product data specifies 5,500 ANSI lumens, while ViewSonic's published specifications distinguish 5,000 ANSI lumens from 5,500 center lumens. That difference in terminology is worth checking on the purchase listing, but either way the model is positioned for bright, large-space projection rather than low-output casual use. Setup flexibility is the practical selling point. A 1.3x optical zoom can help accommodate placement changes without immediately moving the projector, while horizontal and vertical keystone correction, four-corner adjustment, portrait mode, and 360-degree projection support installations that are not limited to a conventional orientation. Ceiling mounting is supported, and the projector is identified as compatible with ViewSonic's PJ-WMK-007 mount. The LS740HD also supports large images. The supplied listing describes 80- to 150-inch projection and a 100-inch image from 8.2 feet. ViewSonic's own published specifications list a broader 30- to 300-inch range and a 100-inch image at approximately 2.5 meters. Because these figures differ by source and context, measure the planned room and screen position before buying. Golf Mode gives the projector a more specific role for simulation users, with support described for major golf simulators. That feature matters only if the rest of the simulation setup is compatible, so verify the simulator's connection and software requirements separately. The purchase decision is straightforward: this model makes sense when brightness and installation convenience are central requirements. If the projector will sit in one predictable position for occasional viewing, its specialized adjustment features may offer less practical value. See price on Amazon
